As managing director of venture and accelerator firm The Robotics Hub, Chris Moehle assists entrepreneurs whose technology ventures can help improve the lives of other people. In this role, Chris Moehle engages with companies in various capacities, including serving as adviser and board observer of Module Housing.

Module Housing is a startup based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that builds homes configurable to the changing needs of the owner. At first, a person may only be able to afford a small home. But as his family and income grow, he can make additions to his home. Making additions is easy, as these homes are modular by design. It is almost like building and expanding a home using Lego blocks.

The company has patents pending for a removable wall and roof system, and collaborates with existing East Coast prefab manufacturers to produce high-quality building materials. The firm assists customers in selecting the right design, finding appropriate land, ordering the modules, and assembling the homes. With this approach, Module Housing aims to help address the housing shortage the country is currently facing from an affordability and sustainability perspective.

As Managing Director of The Robotics Hub, Pittsburgh entrepreneur Chris Moehle focuses on investments in emerging robotics technologies that solve pressing challenges and foster new capacities to redefine people’s lives. Chris Moehle started his career in the space at Carnegie Mellon University as a cross-campus, in-house Robotics Ventures program that successfully spun out into the commercial sphere as an independent, for profit venture fund.

Chris Moehle is also a board observer and adviser with Module, which works to enable the creation of affordable, ultra-sustainable, and adaptive next-generation housing through a combination of robotics and great human-centered design.
